Comfort: Pass it On

Today's Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:3-11
__________________________
In this passage, Paul gives a wonderful description of how comfort is passed along within the Body of Christ. Like the golden rule, when God has given us some form of comfort during a trial, we must pass that comfort along to others when they need it. In other words, we become the extension of God's hand in the life of others when we share the comfort we have received.

While ultimately, we are learning to depend on God, this is an example of the broader working of the full body of Christ. Not only do we depend on God, but in part, we depend on one another in the Church. More often than not, anything you are experiencing has already been experienced by someone in the Church. If we allow ourselves to be transparent with one another, we can also comfort one another and prevent people from falling victim to the attacks of the enemy.
